Mississippi Sexist

Mississippi State Representative Robert Foster belongs to the correct political party: a southern Republican.  He is denying Reporter Larrison Campbell, a female, access to his traveling campaign for Mississippi governor.  He states he is a devout Christian who has vowed to his wife that he would never be alone with another female.  He would allow a man to accompany him on his campaign.

WOW!! There are many levels to this line of thinking.  One, he is viewing Larrison as a sexual object, not as a human being.  Further, he must feel he is not strong enough to resist the charms of this so-believed sexual siren and something inappropriate is surely going to occur.  How southern Christian of him. Furthermore, he assumes a male reporter is safe to tag along.  What if (gasp!) the reporter is a sexual object ready to lure him into a gay liaison.  Why does he see the man as a professional and not the woman?

On top of all this, he said he would allow Larrison to accompany his campaign if she brought along a man as a chaperone.  When she asked him why she should provide the companion and not his campaign he stated his campaign was too small to be able to provide one.  He kept saying it was his truck and his rules.  Another moron!

I am so sick of this conservative bullshit.  This is here and now...not there and then! Try stepping into this century.  It's pretty good.

FAKE?

This was taken from The Washington Post:
“Tracey from Florida”
You may have seen “Tracey from Florida,” a smiling blonde, or “AJ from Texas,” a sharply dressed gentleman, in videos from President Trump’s reelection campaign. They’re not real Trump supportersas the Associated Press reported. They’re models who were paid to film stock video footage.
“Though the 20-second videos include tiny disclaimers that say ‘actual testimonial, actor portrayal,’ they raise the question why a campaign that can fill arenas with supporters would have to buy stock footage of models,” the AP’s Bernard Condon reported. “It’s a practice that, under different circumstances, Trump himself would likely blast as ‘fake news.’
“Trump campaign officials declined repeated requests for comment on Tuesday. Political experts say that, while it’s not unusual for stock footage to find its way into ads, a presidential campaign should have been more careful.”
                                      ____________________________
This is so expected from trump.  It is a classic example of how people who scream out against something (fake news) are often the ones who are practicing it.
Sure, it has fine print explaining the testimonials, but how many people read those tiny disclaimers?  Out of the bazillion wonderful, beautiful trump supporters out there, certainly his campaign could have found two supporters willing to go on camera effusing their praise for the donald!
trump is a moron!

Questions

Testimony

Hope Hicks is to appear in front of the House Judiciary Committee.  On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, Pat Cipollone, White House counsel, let Representative Nadler know that "the president has directed Ms. Hicks not to answer any questions before the committee relating to her time as a senior advisor to the president."

What!? Does this president have something to hide?  This does not sound like an administration that has any concerns for transparency and truthfulness in government.  Is this how he makes America great again?  Trump is a moron!

This makes me sick in my stomach.  How did this great country get to this point?

Denial

Trump has refused to apologize for his full page ad in the New York Times in 1989 calling for the conviction of the Central Park Five.  On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, he stated, "You have people on both sides of that."  Sure there are, but DNA has proven that a serial rapist was the one who raped the jogger and has confessed to doing so. New York City settled for $41 million in 2002 with the five who were convicted. Four of them had served their sentences and one was still serving and released.  Trump is a moron!

The White House

A quote from John Kelly, White House Chief of Staff:

"But the lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War, and men and women of good faith on both sides made their stand where their conscience had them make their stand."

This was from an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fake News...errr Fox News defending confederate leaders and calling General Lee an "honorable man."

Where is there a lack of compromise?  How can you possibly compromise owning fellow human beings?  The South was not giving slavery up without a war. There was no compromise to be found.  The only solution available was to do away with slavery!

Someone needs to give this administration a comprehensive history lesson of our great country.  They all seem to be so out of touch with reality.  Mr. Kelly was proclaimed to be a steadying influence on this dysfunctional group in the White House when he was selected for his position.  Evidently not!

Surely the Civil War was over state rights, but the southern states seceded to maintain slavery as their economic means of prospering on the backs of people they owned.

I continue to be disgusted by the ignorance shown by this administration and their incendiary ways of presenting falsehoods as facts over and over and over again.

Time

Time.

Time goes on doesn't it?  How many times have we heard this statement?  How many times have we really stopped and thought of what this truly means?

On and on it goes.  There is no way to control it.  It is measured and it is consistent.  It is something we can all count on.  The way an individual reacts to time is as varied as there are people on the planet.

Some have no concept of time.  An appointment is made for a precise time.  One may get to the appointed place whenever they get there.  Another feels pressured to get there before or right on time.

One disappointing aspect of time is that every person on the planet is given a finite amount of time in which to react with those in their lives.  No matter how much time we have it can seem as though we do not have enough.

How many times do we try to spend time with those close to us, to try to enjoy this time, to let them know how much we care and need them in our lives?  The finality of losing a loved one when their time has ended is overwhelming.

Yet time goes on.  Time goes on.  We go on with our time and we try to make the most of the time we have with those who remain in our circle of love.

Time.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods received a reprieve at the Masters after signing an incorrect scorecard on Friday. He has a new rule that was instituted just two years ago to thank for the reprieve. Now the pressure is on. What if he ends up winning the tournament? How will fellow competitors and fans feel about the ruling? Stay tuned for today's final round, as Tiger is still in contention for the lead.

Vacation

I am on vacation this week.  My plans are to get some work done around the house.  Lawn mowing, firewood, insulating and whatever else I come across.  We were supposed to get a load of firewood delivered yesterday.  With the heavy rains we received the seller must have thought better of showing up.  Perhaps we will get the load today.  I have about three face cord already stacked.  This is wood I cut and split from downed trees in our woods.  I have another one to two face cords cut and split still in the woods.  I have some pretty good sized tops that have yet to be buzzed up.

Today I am waiting for the lawn to dry up so I can finish mowing.  I did the bulk of the lawn Monday.  Dealing with my mower's propensity for shutting down when it gets hot prevented me from completing the task Monday as it quit running three times during the project.  Hopefully I can get her going today and can finish up the job.  It is much cooler out today after the storm front moved through yesterday.  They're calling for a high of sixty-one degrees today with cloudy skies.

Patti and I will be heading out to Met Life Stadium this weekend to see the Boss in concert.  It will be the fourth time seeing him in concert: once in the Dome in Syracuse and twice in Albany.  The Wrecking Ball Tour.  Randy Day and his wife saw him at Vernon Downs last month and they left before he ended.  Springsteen had gone for over three and a half hours when they left.  Patti and I will not be leaving before the concert ends.
